It’s Snowing, But I’m Still At Work
Well, I guess most people would say what’s your point. I have to go to work when it snows. And those in the more northern states might say that unless there are six feet of snow on the ground we still walk to Church on Sundays. Well, I do respect all of that, but I work at a University in Connecticut. And, well, people don’t drive very well around here. And even though I am confident in my ability to drive in snow, it’s the people around me that I worry about. Secondly, when ever it snows, there are a large number of people that don’t even bother to show up. And me, as a support person, has no one to support. So what is the point? Why am I here?
The other depressing thing is when I go online I see that every other college in the area has canceled their night classes. Ok, so everyone else is closed but us, what’s the deal with that. I guess on the other hand, I should be excited that I have a job right now, with the economy the way it is and all. But I am little frustrated that some of the people at the top who make the decisions don’t think more about the commuters that have to drive to and from class, and some of the professors who live over an hour away. It would be one thing if everyone was a resident of the University, but we’re not. We have to drive home.
Ok, that was my little snow day rant of being bitter for not being able to leave work until 7:30 PM. Oh look at that, it’s time to go home. Good-Night!
